Is the Road to Curmătura Vidruţei Paved?
Located south of Sibiu, in the central part of the country, the road to the summit is fully paved, although not in the best condition. It’s called DN7A. The road has curvy parts, many hairpin turns, and steep sections. The pass is usually open year-round, with short-term closures in winter.
How Long is the Road to Curmătura Vidruţei?
Set high in the Latoriței Mountains, the pass is 40.6 km (25.22 miles) long, running west to east from Obârșia Lotrului to Voineasa. At the summit, there’s a small parking lot and some souvenir campervans. It’s also the starting point for the challenging road to Belvedere Mogoș.
