How to get to Aukstojas Hill, the highest point of Lithuania, by car?

Where is Aukštojas Hill?

The peak is situated in the Medininkai Highlands, east of Vilnius, in the southeastern part of the country, near the Belarus border.

How to get to Aukštojas Hill by Car?

The road to the hill is mostly unpaved. Starting from the paved 5213 road, it’s 1.4 km (0.86 miles) long and ends at Aukštojo parkingas, a parking lot at 280 meters (918 feet) above sea level. At this elevation, it’s the highest road in the country. From the parking lot, you can follow the path to the peak.

Is Aukštojas Hill Worth the Drive?

Surrounded by the Migūnai forestry, featuring a grove of pine trees, the summit hosts a viewing tower with good views, a circular monument with four horse heads on its circumference, and another large boulder marking the actual highest point.
