The road to the summit is fully paved. It's called Carretera al Parque Nacional El Boquerón. The road narrows significantly, but the quality remains excellent. After 2 kilometers of climbing at a steep gradient (9.8% average), the summit line lies just below 1,800 meters, virtually at the top of the volcano.
