The road straddles Puntarenas and Guanacaste provinces, in the mountainous northwestern part of the country.
How long is Carretera 606?
The road is 53 km (32 miles) long and runs south-north from Sardinal (Puntarenas Province) to Cabecera de Cañas (Guanacaste Province).
How challenging is Carretera 606?
The road was totally paved at the beginning of the 2020s. However, it’s not an easy drive, as the road features narrow parts, hundreds of turns, and steep sections, topping out at 1,378 meters (4,520 feet) above sea level.
