A Sensational Road to Dove Lake in the Highlands of Tasmania
Dove Lake is a glacially carved lake at an elevation of 945 m (3,100 ft) above sea level, located in the central highlands region of Tasmania.
Where is Dove Lake?
The lake is situated at the foot of Cradle Mountain, at the northern end of the Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair National Park, in the northern part of Tasmania.
Is the Road to Dove Lake Paved?
The road to the lake is called Cradle Mountain Road. It’s fully paved and very scenic. Caravans, campervans, motorhomes, and trailers, as well as vehicles over 6.5 tons and/or vehicles longer than 8 meters, are not permitted in the National Park.
How Long is the Road to Dove Lake?
Nestled in the Dove River Conservation Area, the road is 12.5 km (7.76 miles) long, starting from C132 Road. The road ends in a large parking lot; however, parking may be limited.
