How long is the Cooloola Beach Drive?
Located within the Great Sandy National Park, it’s said to be one of the longest beach drives in the world. The one-way road is 60 km (37 miles) long, running along the stunning coastline and cruising the majestic sweep of Cooloola’s long white beaches.
Where does the Cooloola Beach Drive start and end?
The road runs from Noosa North Shore to the township of Rainbow Beach. The drive is dangerous due to washouts, and the track is sandy and rough. It’s suitable for high-clearance 4WD vehicles only.
Can I drive the Cooloola Beach Drive?
All vehicles must be registered and have a valid Cooloola Recreation Area vehicle access permit (VAP) displayed on their windscreen when traversing designated tracks and beach areas.
