The road, part of Tourist Drive 21, is mostly paved but in bad condition. It features narrow parts (in some sections, it is only one lane) and steep sections, with gradients reaching up to 15%. It tops out at 1,054m (3,458ft) above sea level. This route is not suitable for caravans or heavy vehicles.

It gives access to three waterfalls: Browns Falls, Daggs Falls, and Queen Mary Falls.
