This scary cliff road is called Shantipur Road and links the small towns of Rudrabeni and Ridi. It’s mostly paved. Drive with care as this is a mountain road with hairpin curves and dangerous drop-offs. It’s 10.8 km (6.71 miles) long, running along the Kali Gandaki River.

How challenging is the road from Rudrabeni to Ridi?

This road sees a lot of truck and bus traffic and is extremely narrow with no guardrails for protection. It challenges both the driving abilities and nerves of anyone who attempts it. It’s absolutely unsuitable for those with vertigo or a fear of landslides. Avoid driving here during harsh weather. The risk of avalanches, heavy snow, and landslides is high, and the frequent icy patches make it particularly hazardous.
