A 4x4 road to Sangiin Dalai Nuur
Sangiin Dalai Nuur is a high mountain lake at an elevation of 2.570m (8,431ft) above the sea located in the Bayankhongor Province in southern Mongolia.
The road to the lake is totally unpaved. 4x4 vehicle required. It’s a long and challenging road through rugged landscapes. Starting from Bayanbulag (a sum of Bayankhongor Province), the road is 29.1 km (18 miles) long. Adverse weather conditions are common. The area has a subarctic climate with mild summers and severely cold winters. 6km north of the lake, the road tops out at 2.728m (8,950ft) above the sea level.
