The caves are located 30 KM away from Jerantut town, in Pahang Darul Makmur, in the central part of the country.
Why is Gua Kota Gelanggi famous?
Gua Kota Gelanggi comprises 11 caves open to the public. The cave complex was first written about in 1882. Since then, archaeologists have found prehistoric human remains in the caves. The place is mostly abandoned, and there are no facilities.
How to reach the caves of Gua Kota Gelanggi?
To reach the area, you’ll need to drive through a cave, where you’ll find an information panel about the caves. The road is mostly paved and in good condition. From the first set of caves, the dirt road continues through the forest. You go through the gate (entrance fee: 5 MYR) and drive to the end of the road, where you’ll find a parking lot with some abandoned buildings and a bathroom.
When is the best time to drive to Gua Kota Gelanggi?
The best time to visit the caves is from February through November. In December, check the weather forecast before you go.
