The Wild Road to Jalpak Bel pass
Pereval Dzhalpakbel is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 3.300m (10,826ft) above the sea level, located in the Region Naryn, in Kyrgyzstan.
Located in the Tian Shan mountains, the road to the summit, also known as Jalpak Bel Ashuu, is unpaved. 4wd cars only. This area is known for the fact that fog often falls on the pass. It is so dense that visibility is practically zero.
It’s usually impassable from November to March. The road to the pass is constantly turning into serpentines and the slope is steep enough. Even in July there can be snow up there so dress warm and be ready for anything.
