A very bumpy, grueling road to Mingtur Pass
Pereval Ming-Tur is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 3.707m (12,162ft) above the sea level located in Ysyk-Köl, Kyrgyzstan.
The road to the pass is extreme. Extremely narrow, with gravel, and impassable for normal vehicles. Just bicycles and some 4x4 cars. The climb is clinging to steep, rice-terraced, and scree-sloped canyons. Be ready to be riding at high altitudes and in extreme weather conditions. The wind is usually quite strong at mountain areas. High winds blow here all year long. Even in summer you can confront with snowy days. Temperatures here in the winter are brutally cold. With such a high summit altitude the road can be closed anytime due to snowfalls. The zone is prone to heavy mist and can be dangerous in low visibility conditions. The views back across to the spectacular Tien Shan and the black pyramid of Khan Tengri are among the best in central Asia.
