The pass is located in the Osh Region, in the southwestern part of the country, near southwestern Xinjiang, China, in the Tarim Basin region.
Is the road through Ikizyak Pass challenging?
The road to the summit is totally unpaved. It’s not an easy drive, with countless turns, narrow sections, steep parts, and challenging conditions. A 4x4 vehicle is required to complete the drive. The road is often washed out and is completely impassable in winter.
