What Vehicle Do I Need to Drive to Dzhuku Pass?
Located in the eastern part of the country, south of Lake Issyk-Kul in the Dzhuku Valley, the road to the summit, also known as Juuku Ashuu Pass, is one of the most extreme drives on Earth. It is unpaved, narrow, with significant rocks and obstacles. Only capable 4x4 vehicles with high clearance are suitable. It is strongly advised never to drive this trail alone. Beyond the pass, it is only suitable for Quad, ATV, light Enduro, or Motocross motorbikes.
How Long is the Road to Dzhuku Pass?
Starting from Kyzyl Suu, the road spans a length of 51.1 km (31.75 miles). If your ideal road trip involves venturing far off the beaten track, then this drive is tailored for you. Set high in the Tian Shan mountains, the pass is usually open from mid-to-late June until mid-October. In winters, up to 80 feet (24 m) of snow can cover the pass's summit.
