The town is located in the western part of the country. It’s famous for its many fortresses (such as Rajmachi Fort and Shrivardhan Fort) and temples, especially the Godhaneshwar Temple. In the rainy season, this region becomes beautiful with silvery waterfalls, streams, and lush green forests and meadows.

The road to the town is totally unpaved and pretty challenging. It has narrow parts and countless turns. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended. It’s better to avoid the road if it has been raining.
