How To Travel The Rajmachi Road
Rajmachi road is a gravel dirt track located in the rugged mountains of Sahyadri in India. This steep road climbs up to the forts of Rajmachi: Shrivardhan fort and Manaranjan Fort.
The surface of the road is unpaved with many hairpin turns. The path that leads to the fort was once a major trade route, with the fort comprising of two parts, each located on the above mentioned peaks. Many college groups visit Karjat in rainy seasons. In rainy season you have to be more careful as waterfalls are dangerous here. slippery on greenery is there so be careful.
Portions of the road may be temporarily closed due to road work or inclement weather. In rainy season this region all the more beautiful with silvery water falls, streams and lush green forests and meadows. The Rajmachi fort offers mesmerising views of the valley below and the surrounding Sahyadri Range.
