Driving the Remote Unpaved Road to Nyadong La in Tibet
Nyadong La is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 5,224m (17,139ft) above sea level, located in the southeastern Tibet Autonomous Region of China.

Where is Nyadong La?
The pass is located north of Karo La, on the boundary between Gyantse and Rinbung Counties in Xigazê Prefecture. The road provides stunning views of the 7,191m peak of Noijin Kangsang, a famous mountain that dominates the classic view of Yamdrok Lake from the Kamba La pass.
How Long is the Road to Nyadong La?
The road to the summit is entirely unpaved and in very poor condition. It’s a remote and challenging drive, requiring a 4x4 vehicle. The pass stretches 47km (29 miles), running north-south from Ramba to Ralung.
