Dri La is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 4,734m (15,531ft) above sea level, located in Karub District of Qamdo, in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.
Is the Road to Dri La Unpaved?
The road through the summit is entirely unpaved. It’s called the 504 road. It’s a very challenging drive, with narrow parts, steep sections, dangerous drop-offs, and countless turns, including 25 hairpin turns. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended.
How Long is the Road Through Dri La?
The road is 28.7 km (17.83 miles) long, running from Ruobaxiang to Karuozhen on the G214 Road. When the snow falls - which it does in the winter - things get tough and slippery.
