Yaksang La is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 4.894m (16,056ft) above the sea level, located on the boundary of Comai and Qonggyai counties of Shannan in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.
Is the road to Yaksang La paved?
The road to the summit, also known as Gu La, is totally paved. It’s called Qiongcuo Line. The road is not easy, with countless hairpin turns and twists, and steep sections.
How long is Yaksang La?
At the summit, an archway marks the highest point on the road. When the snow falls - which it does in the winter – things get tough and slippery. The pass is 39.9 km (24.79 miles) long, running north-south from Qonggyai to Zongzongcun.
