Xiagete Wall Road is recommended for drivers with strong nerves
Xiagete Wall Road is the name of a scary cliff road located in Shuicheng county, in the west of Guizhou province, China, bordering Yunnan province to the west, in China. If you're afraid of heights, it's probably best to keep your eyes forward.
The road is totally unpaved but navigable by all passenger vehicles and leads to Duge Bridge (also known as Beipanjiang Bridge), the highest bridge in the world. The route is dangerous. Not recommended to newbies. Along the way you’ll have to deal with some dangerous drop offs over the Beipan river.
The road has some narrow parts, so proceed cautiously and hope no other vehicles come from the other direction. Not recommended if you don't know how to reverse. The road is less than 2 meters wide, with a high risk of rock slides. Be careful: this road is not for the sissies. One mistake can have consequences. It’s totally closed to heavy vehicles.
