Hongshan Mountain, a truly outstanding SUV adventure
Hongshan Mountain is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 4.530m (14,862ft) above the sea level, located in Northwestern Yunnan Province, People's Republic of China.
The narrow road to the summit is unpaved. Be careful: this road is not for the sissies. One mistake can have consequences. The road is difficult, with dangerous drop offs. 4x4 vehicle recommended.
The pass is 71.6 km (44.49 miles) long, running west-east from Gezanxiang (in Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan) to Gekaxiang (in Daocheng County, Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan).
