S304 is an unforgettable journey in Tibet
304 Provincial Road is a very scenic mountain road located in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.
The road is a pretty little shortcut running from the town of Yangbajain (on the China National Highway 109) and the 318 National Road (G318), the Tibet-Sichuan highway, near Dazhuka. The road is unsealed but navigable by all passenger vehicles in dry weather. It’s 170 km (105 mile) long running above 3.800m above the sea level. Remember this is a mountainous area, climbing up a high mountain, with a notorius absence of oxygen. Altitude and extreme weather are always a factor. The road tops out at Suge La, a high mountain pass at an elevation of 5.453m (17,890ft) above the sea level, located in the Nyenchen Dangla Mountains.
