Demo Pass, a winding road only for experienced drivers
Demo La is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 4.817m (15,803ft) above the sea level, located in Zayü County, in the southeast of the Tibet Autonomous Region, China.
The road to the summit is paved. It features a few hairpin turns and some steep ramps. It’s called S201 Provincial Road. The pass is 92.1 km long, running from Rawu village, on the 318 National Road (G318), the Tibet-Sichuan highway, and Goyü, a township. Remember this is a mountainous area, climbing up a high mountain, with a notorius absence of oxygen. Altitude and extreme weather are always a factor.
