Haizi Pass: enjoy a road among the clouds
Haizi La is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 4.689m (15,383ft) above the sea level, located in Batang County, in western Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, People's Republic of China. The area has a lunar landscape.
The road to the summit is called 318 National Road (G318), the Tibet-Sichuan highway. It’s totally paved. “Haizi” literally means”lakes”: it is said that there are totally 1145 lakes in Haizi Mountain.
The pass is 53.2 km long and runs east-west from Dedaxiang to Henixiang. There’s a little bar and a viewing platform on the left side of the summit, with stunning views of the blue Sisters Lakes.
