Tiffindell Ski Resort
Tiffindell Ski Resort is the only ski resort in South Africa. Located in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, the road to the resort climbs up to 2.780m (9,120ft) above the sea level. It’s one of the highest roads of the country.
The summit is situated in the highlands of the Cape. The road is gravel in good conditions. Due to the high elevations and exposure, the road is subject to strong winds and rapid weather changes. Be prepared for the cold and wind! High winds blow here all year long. Even in summer you can confront with snowy days which is very unusual for South Africa. Temperatures here in the winter are brutally cold so take appropriate clothing with you. Dangerous when there is heavy snow. Tiffindell came into existence in 1993. Fill up in Barkly East - there is no fuel in Rhodes or Tiffindell.
