Bottelnek Pass
Bottelnek Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.201m (7,221ft) above the sea level, located in the Eastern Cape, in South Africa.
The road to the summit is pretty steep (up to 1:5). It’s gravel and the surface is often loose, especially along the sides of the road. In wet weather non 4WD vehicles will have traction issues. It snows regularly on this pass during winter and the usual snow-driving cautionaries apply. On the summit there are spectacular views of the rugged Eastern Cape scenery as far as the eye can see.
