Molteno Pass is a mountain pass at an elevation of 1,204 m (3,950 ft) above sea level, straddling the Western Cape and Northern Cape provinces of South Africa.
Where is Molteno Pass?
The pass is located in the southern part of the country, within the Nuweveld Mountain Range. The road through the pass follows the eastern boundary of the Karoo National Park for most of its length.
Why is it Called Molteno Pass?
The pass is named after Sir JC Molteno, the first Prime Minister of the Cape.
