Perdepoort Pass, a sensational road of South Africa
Perdepoort Pass is a mountain pass at an elevation of 906m (2,972ft) above the sea level, located in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.
The road to the summit, also known as Perdepoort, is totally paved. It’s a national road called N9. Always check the weather forecast before you start your journey: adverse conditions are common. Conversely the summers are brutal with daily temperature that frequently reach 40 degrees C.
The pass road is 27.1 km (16.83 miles) long, running south-north from Willowmore, a town in Sarah Baartman District Municipality to Vogelstruisleegte.
