D1986 is a very scenic road running through lakes, located in Walvis Bay, a city on the coast of Namibia.

Is D1986 Road Paved?

Situated in the western part of the country, in front of the Atlantic Ocean, the road was recently paved and runs through salt lakes. The 3,500-hectare salt field is one of the largest solar evaporation facilities in Africa, processing 24 million tons of seawater each year to produce more than 700,000 tons of high-quality salt.

How Long is D1986 Road?

The road is 21.6km (13.42 miles) long and runs east-west from Walvis Bay city, the second-largest city in Namibia, to Paaltjies Parking Area.
