An unforgettable drive to Tizi n’Bou Oudi
Tizi n’Bou Oudi is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.794m (9,166ft) above the sea level, located in central Morocco, in Tinghir Province, in the Drâa-Tafilalet Region of Morocco. It’sone of the highest roads of Morocco.
Set high in the Atlas range, the road to the summit is called R704. It’s really challenging and difficult, with extreme drop offs unprotected by guardrails. The road is mostly paved at the beginning, starting from Boumalne Dades. Beyond, it’s a dirt road paired with sweeping, slippery and hard gravel that definitely demands pure concentration.
The pass road is 47km long, running from Tilmi towards Agoudal. Access to the pass is typically open all year round, with the occasional closure in winters due to dangerous weather conditions.
