The dam, built across the Senqunyane River, is 145 meters high and 620 meters long. It is the tallest rock-fill concrete-face rock-filled dam anywhere in Africa. An entire mountain was crushed and moved to build the rock wall. The reservoir offers a variety of activities such as boat cruise, guided tours pony trekking and hiking.
