The Passo del Bocco is a high mountain pass at 956 m above sea level in the Strada Provinciale 26bis, in the province of Genova, linking Mezzanego and Emilia-Romagna.
The road continues to the SP3, in the province of Parma. It’s situated in Liguria and belongs to the Apennines.
From the pass you can arrive, by the SP 26bis, to Montemoggio (about 700 m above sea level) and Giaiette, in the Comune of Borzonasca and Borgonovo Ligure, in the Comune of Mezzanego. After the end of the region, the road continues as SP 3 and it reaches Santa Maria del Taro, in the Comune of Tornolo. By the SP 27 can be reached Cassego ,Scurtabò and Varese Ligure in the Province of La Spezia . By the SP 49 is possible to reach the Passo dei Ghiffi and Sopralacroce, in the Comune of Borzonasca.

This mountain pass was the scenary of an historic hill climb, by the winner of 1994 Tour of Italy Yevgeny Berzin. The Passo del Bocco was also the place where May,9th 2011 died the Belgian cyclist Wouter Weylandt, during the third stage of the Tour of Italy’2011.
To get this pass, there are 2 possible ways. Starting from Borgonovo Ligure, the Passo del Bocco ascent is 15.3 km long. Over this distance, you climb 854 heightmeters. The average percentage is thus 5.6 %. And starting from Bedonia, the Passo del Bocco ascent is 27.2 km long. Over this distance, you climb 425 heightmeters. The average percentage is thus 1.6 %.
