Via Erice is a spectacular short coastal road with a total length of 6.0km located in south-Western of Sicily, Italy, in the province of Trapani.
The road starts in Valderice a town and comune in South-Western Sicily, Italy, administratively part of the province of Trapani, at an elevation of 240 m (790 ft) above the sea level. After 6 km climbing, the road arrives to Erice a town located on top of Mount Erice, at around 750m above sea level, overlooking the city of Trapani, the low western coast towards Marsala, the dramatic Punta del Saraceno and Capo San Vito to the north-east, and the Aegadian Islands on Sicily's north-western coast, providing spectacular views.
Starting from Valderice, Via Erice is 7,9 km long. Over this distance, the average percentage thus is 8.5 %.

This infamous road is tightly hairpinned and bumped, an exquisite winding mountain drive with sharp and blind curves and hairpin switchbacks leading the traveler over the mountains. The road includes some steep sections, without market central lines, is very narrow, barely wide enough for 2 cars at the same time and it has not protections or guardrails. The surface of the road is asphalted.
