About Dangerous Roads

Someone once said that every successful new idea solves a problem.

The problem I hope this web site will solve is that of finding information about dangerous places on the roads we all travel.

The seed for this idea developed after my son and I slid across the road and into some bushes on the way from our home in Falls Village, Connecticut to Bradley International Airport. Luckily, it was early in the morning and there was no oncoming traffic, but the car and all hope of my son making his California flight were shot. When the trooper arrived, he explained that there had been no rain in weeks and the brief showers earlier that morning had left behind an oily slick. He went on to say that there were frequent accidents in this same spot, especially in winter when conditions were bad.

Later that day, I thought about an article I had read recently about Dutchers Bridge in Salisbury and the numerous accidents there over the years, including a recent fatal accident. Article about Dutchers Bridge (Login Required)

It seemed just common sense to create an on-line forum for people to share information about such trouble spots. The roads we travel connect us to the ones we love, to the jobs we need to get to, and the places we want to go. We all want to arrive safely.

I hope the time and attention you give to this web site will help us all with that goal.
